The PEASANT BOY and the MAGIC GOOSE FEATHER

One day, a young PEASANT BOY from the village by the edge of the DEEP FOREST fell in love with a young maiden. He asked her FATHER for her hand in MARRIAGE, but he refused. Said the PEASANT BOY:

You do not find me worthy now, but if I retrieve the MAGIC GOOSE FEATHER from the OLD WOMAN of the WOODS, would you assent to the MARRIAGE?

Replied the FATHER:

Aye. Certainly I would assent, but it is foolish to go. But I know it is impossible to stop a man in love. May GOD be with you!

So the PEASANT BOY disappeared into the mists of the DEEP FOREST. After three long days of walking amongst the trees and brooks, he came upon an ancient HOUSE from the time when giants walked the earth. The OLD WOMAN of the WOODS appeared from within the HOUSE. Said she:

Ah, my lad, is it the MAGIC GOOSE FEATHER that ye seek? I shall bequeath it to you if you retrieve for me the THREE GREAT QUILLS from within the DARK CAVE. But beware, within the cave lies an ancient EVIL.

So the PEASANT BOY set off into the DEEP FOREST for the DARK CAVE. He walked amongst the trees and brooks for three days. Suddenly, the PEASANT BOY was eaten by a pack of WOLVES.

THERE IS ALWAYS A NON-ZERO CHANCE OF BEING DEVOURED BY WOLVES
